“The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”  Psalm 121:7-8

As we completed our move into a nomad lifestyle I was reminded of Psalm 121, a scripture God used to begin preparing us for this journey over a year ago.  What encouragement in knowing that God is watching over our comings and goings.  Our arrivals and our departures.  Both now, in the present, and ongoing into the future.

This past week Karin and I were so blessed by the support and help of family, friends and even strangers as we made our departure.  It was a massive undertaking moving out of a 1,500 sqft home and into a 10’ x 25’ storage unit 200 miles away.  With God’s strength and others’ help, we are well on our way to the next global adventure.  Here are some of the highlights.

Many friends from FCC in Ellensburg helped us pack and load.  And then John and Steph, you blessed us yet again by coming back Wednesday morning (with donuts) to help us get finally out of town.  How did you know we would need you in those final hours?  Not to mention the others who have continued to help after we eventually departed.

As we unloaded in Central Oregon, family and friends stepped up to help there too.  Followed then by relentless support and food from our parents and my sister in packing our five Africa bound suitcases and carry-ons.  They literally got us across the finish line and onto the plane.

Once we landed at SeaTac from Redmond, Oregon we met a couple in the food court from Minnesota who were headed to Hawaii.  Through small talk they discovered we were headed into missions in Africa.  They too expressed their faith in Christ and decided that they wanted to treat us to lunch.  What an unexpected blessing and encouragement as we started this new adventure!
